Connecting our International Neighbors to the love of Jesus Christ in mind, body and Spirit. Matthew 22:37-39
God's command to welcome those from other places is as old as time itself. To love one's neighbor as much as one's self, within the love of God, is the basis for God's law.
If you come from another country, we are here to help you make your First Connections.
We will help you connect to: community, language classes, culture, the Bible, new friends-and any other ways that are important to you. When you are with us, you will be loved, and you will be free to explore all aspects of life without pressure to change anything.
First Connections began in January 2008 and will soon offer:
First Connections to America, Thursdays, Fall 2008
Baptist Campus Ministry at Oklahoma City University, 4:00 - 5:00 pm
In this casual class, we will discuss all areas of American culture: food, sports, politics, holidays, travel, or anything you want to explore. This class is free.
First Connections to Christianity, Fridays, Fall 2008
Baptist Campus Ministry at Oklahoma City University, 4:00 - 5:00 pm
In this causal class, we will read, study and explore the Bible, the book of faith for those who believe in and follow Jesus Christ. This introductory class is perfect for those who know little or nothing about the Christian faith but want to start learning now. This class is free.
First Connections to Christianity, Wednesday nights
First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, 6:00 pm
This is the same format as the Friday class at OCU, only it takes place in the Missions Center of First Baptist Church.
If you have any questions about these programs, or if you have a question or need help with something, feel free to call Brian McAtee, our Minister with Peoples from the Nations, at 232-4255. Ask for Brian or extension 115. He'll be glad to meet you!
