First Baptist Church to offer free autism training for church workers and parents |
|
First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City will offer a free workshop on working with autistic children on
Saturday, October 6, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. Speakers include Melinda Lauffenburger, director of the
Edmond Family Center for Autism, and Rene Damon, director of the Oklahoma Autism Network.
"This workshop is designed for church volunteers who have autistic children in their classes, as well
as parents," said Kristin Rogers, FBCOKC minister to children and families. "Many of us are
seeking answers to questions about working with children on the autism spectrum. This session will help
boost the confidence of those who teach children, whether in their own churches or at home."
To register, contact Rogers at 232-4255, extension 124, or kristinrogers@fbcokc.org. The workshop
will be held at the church, 1201 North Robinson. |
