OKC First Baptist choir to perform "Experiencing God: The Musical" on June 28 |
|
The sanctuary choir of First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City (FBCOKC) will perform “Experiencing God: The Musical” on Sunday, June 28, at 10:30 a.m. during worship service. The concert is free and open to the public.
The event will cap a 12-week church-wide study of Henry Blackaby’s classic Bible study curriculum, Experiencing God. The musical was nominated for a Dove award in 2001 and has been performed in churches and public venues nationwide.
“The music delivers a call for all of us to rise up out of the ordinariness of our Christian lives and understand that we are face-to-face with the living God,” said FBCOKC music minister Kim Greer. “This experience in worship will call each of us to respond to our God from the depths of our hearts. It will be a beautiful culmination of these meaningful weeks of study by our congregation.”
The program blends contemporary numbers like Speechless and Open the Eyes of My Heart with classic hymns, including When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, Just As I Am and Be Thou My Vision.
