"Pianorama," a concert featuring four grand pianos played side-by-side, will be held at First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City (FBCOKC) on Sunday, Oct. 9, at 4:00 p.m. in the church’s sanctuary at 1201 North Robinson.
"Music is a vital part of our ministry, and it's a joy for us to share this unique program with our community," said FBCOKC music minister and concert organizer Bruce Greer. "This format of four musicians playing four grand pianos together adds an incredible dimension to already remarkable and loved musical pieces."
Pianists for the concert include Greer, Dr. David Forbat, Alan Hicks and Steven McConnell.
The program will include four-piano arrangements of hymns, "O Worship the King," "I'd Rather Have Jesus," and "Since Jesus Came into My Heart," classical pieces, "Rondo" from Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, "Symphony #40 in G Minor K 550-1, Molto Allegro" (Mozart), and "Appalachian Spring; Hoe Down" (Copland), as well as crowd favorites, "Flight of the Bumblebee" from The Tale of Tsar Saltan (Rimsky-Korsakov) and "Stars and Stripes Forever" (Sousa).
Admission is free, and groups are welcome to attend. |
