Roundup Begins in the Dining Hall |
It's Round-Up Time at First Baptist Church |

At First Baptist Church of Oklahoma City, fall means roundup time! The annual Fall Roundup, a celebration
for past, present and future members, will be held on Sunday, October 1 and will focus on a hitting a
high-attendance mark for Sunday school classes.
The day's festivities will feature a special worship service and a fellowship luncheon with live music
by bluegrass and gospel band, High Ground.
"The roundup is like a big family reunion with an old West theme," said Betty Peterson,
FBCOKC's administrative project manager. "There will be something for everybody, complete with good
food, great entertainment and fellowship all centered around meaningful Bible study and worship
experiences."
This is the second roundup hosted by the downtown church in as many years.
"The main message we want to send is that we want folks here with us," said senior pastor
Tom Ogburn. "Whether they left this church years ago and want to renew acquaintances or they've
never seen our church before and are looking for a unique worship experience-along with a whole lot
of fun-this day is perfect for them."
"This church was founded soon after the Land Run, so when we don our boots and hats,
sing old-time hymns and eat great home-style cooking, it's like going back to our roots."
Sunday school begins at 9:15, followed by the worship service at 10:30. Lunch will be served after the service. Lunch ticket prices are $7 for adults, $4 for youth 13-19 and $3 for children 12 and under, with a family maximum of $20.
